This quarter's project is a research assignment. Each student will choose (or be assigned) one person from the Revolutionary era. For this person each student will create a blog post that:
- Place of Birth/Birth date/State that he represented/General Biographical Information
- Summary of significant actions or contributions to the Revolution by this person
- Individual reason(s) why this person participated in the Revolution the way they did (i.e. idealism, financial reason, hatred of England…)
- Conclude with a detailed argument addressing whether your person deserves greater historical recognition or not
Each person who completes these items satisfactorily will earn a "70". Beyond this grade, an additional 2 points will be added for each hyperlink that is well integrated into the blog essay and links to another student generated blog assignment.
For example: The student who has George Washington discusses how John Adams nominated him to be the General of the Continental Army. The name "John Adams" could be a hyperlink to the blog essay of the student doing John Adams. Also, the George Washington essay might state that he was a delegate to the 2nd Continental Convention with Thomas Jefferson, where "Thomas Jefferson" is a link.
These additional points will be added up until a student has a maximum score of 100 (or until the student has 15 hyperlinks). Each name can be used only once for a bonus hyperlink.
